Making a difference in Ballan: Kylie’s journey at mecwacare

Kylie joined mecwacare in March 2022 as a casual receptionist. Since then, she has embraced every opportunity for growth, progressing to Allied Health Practice Manager and now serving as Manager of Ballan Health Care & Services. Kylie’s path highlights the difference a supportive workplace can make for your career.

In her current role, Kylie oversees the operations of a busy GP and Allied Health clinic and works closely with a multidisciplinary team including General Practitioners, nurses, physiotherapists, dietitians, podiatrists, social workers, exercise physiologists and allied health assistants. She also manages a gym and hydrotherapy pool, which are integral to the community wellness programs.

“I’m fortunate to work with an exceptional team that values collaboration and support,” Kylie says. “I genuinely look forward to coming to work each day. I’d especially like to acknowledge my mentors Chantelle, Maria and Tracy. Their guidance has been instrumental in helping me grow professionally and develop strong skills in healthcare management.”

Community engagement is at the heart of Kylie’s work. She finds great fulfillment in connecting with the people of Ballan, understanding their needs and seeking new ways to improve services. “It’s a privilege to contribute to meaningful healthcare outcomes in our community,” she adds.

Kylie’s story shows that a career at mecwacare is not just about a job, but about growth, support and making a real difference in the lives of the people we serve.
