A supportive short stay for you or your loved one

Respite care offers guests and their carers a much-needed break while supporting independence and wellbeing.

During their stay, guests receive the same high-quality care and access to the full range of services enjoyed by our permanent residents. Each guest has their own comfortable room with a private ensuite.

You can feel confident knowing registered nurses are on every shift, creating a safe, reassuring and welcoming environment. Fresh, nutritious meals are prepared daily by our on-site chefs.

Guests can also enjoy a vibrant lifestyle program, with plenty of opportunities to socialise, connect with others and take part in activities that suit their interests.

Terms and Conditions

Available at Calwell Manor, Safety Beach and O’Mara House, Traralgon only.

  • Offer valid until 31 January 2026.
  • Includes two paid weeks of Respite Care, followed by two complimentary weeks, with no Basic Daily Fee during this period.
  • To qualify, payment for the first week must be paid upfront or upon arrival (credit card or direct transfer only).
  • Clients must hold a valid ACAT (Aged Care Assessment Tool) for respite.
  • A minimum of 21 days must be available within the client’s allocated 63 government-funded respite days for the 2025/2026 financial year.
  • Respite admission must occur on or before 31 January 2026.
  • Offer is not available to clients funded through third-party sources.
  • Emergency admissions do not qualify for this offer.
  • If respite extends beyond four weeks, a Basic Daily Care Fee will apply until transition to permanent care.
  • Offer is limited to one use per individual and is subject to availability.
  • Offer applicable at the following mecwacare residential aged care homes – Calwell Manor, Safety Beach and O’Mara House, Traralgon only.
