Learning and development
Learning and Development at mecwacare is more than just training. With a full calendar of events mecwacare offers diverse, interesting and worthwhile learning opportunities to our staff and volunteers. mecwacare's accredited training means our clients' and residents' families can feel reassured that staff have the most up-to-date knowledge in OHS, first aid and CPR to provide a safe and healthy environment. We are passionate about the service we provide and believe in investing in our staff and volunteers to give them optimal assistance in obtaining development opportunities. This in turn gives us motivated, engaged and up skilled staff to provide the highest quality of care to clients and residents.
We offer a streamlined and coordinated framework for learning pathways within mecwacare: Support Through Education Program (STEP). On average, 95% of mecwacare staff have qualifications across all programs. This reflects the emphasis on learning and development of our people.
Employee Wellbeing
Our Employee Wellbeing Committee identifies opportunities to develop and improve the wellbeing of employees across all programs as their work continues.
An employee assistance program is available to staff to help manage the challenges and daily demands of working life and personal life.
