Summary: More than 100 mecwacare volunteers and staff attended the National Volunteer Week celebrations held at the Malvern Valley Reception Centre on Thursday 14 May 2009.

Our Chief Executive, Michele Lewis presented Certificates of Appreciation to 19 of our newest volunteers while volunteers with 5, 10 and 15 years of service were presented with certificates and lapel pins. 

Volunteers with 20 and 25 years of service received an engraved paperweight along with their certificates. 

Thelma Ditterich and Joy Waller-Ogden were each presented with an engraved paperweight and framed certificate to recognise their 40 and 45 years of service.

Volunteers who were unable to attend this awards ceremony will receive their certificates and lapel pins in the mail. 

During National Volunteer Week, mecwacare also placed advertisements thanking our volunteers in Local Leader Newspapers. 

Our volunteer’s valuable contribution enables us to care for over 7,000 people each week across Australia.  Thank you!
