Summary: Federal Member for Higgins Peter Costello MP attended mecwacare's special ground-breaking ceremony to officially launch the construction of our newest aged care facility in Malvern.

The new Malvern Road facility will feature 120 bedrooms as well as multiple living and dining areas, private entertaining rooms, library, hairdresser and games areas. The home will also feature garden outlooks and a private courtyard. A Day Centre at the front of the building will offer support for elderly people living independently in the local community, providing company, stimulation and exercise, whilst having the comfort of their own surroundings to return home to.

As Australia’s ageing population accelerates, more and more people are relying on mecwacare to provide care and support for their loved one’s who are ageing, disabled, in need of support, and may be suffering from dementia.

This facility will cost $28 million and is a huge financial undertaking for the future of our community. We are asking for your financial support to help build and fit out the facility. This is an investment not only for today, but for the future.
