Tee up for mecwacare

Summary: mecwacare is hosting a Charity Golf Day at Sandhurst Golf Club in the famous ‘sandbelt‘ area of SE Melbourne, on Friday May 16 2008, with a shotgun start at 8.00am. The funds raised will be used to assist in the building of a new 120 bedroom Aged Care Accommodation facility in Malvern.

In the next few years, five times as many people will be leaving the workforce as those entering it for the first time. mecwacare  is facing a huge increase in people requiring aged care as the ‘baby boomer’ generation starts to enter retirement, and mecwacare  wants to support Victorians in need of such care.

Commercial Sponsorship options are available for businesses who would like to support the great work that mecwacare does in our community – naming rights for the day are available for $10,000, and individual Hole Sponsorship is available at $2,000 a hole. If you are a keen golfer and would like to take part in the day’s fun, then come along and invite a group of friends to join you with an individual package priced at $100.

All players have the use of an electric golf cart, and a light lunch will be provided. The event will involve the following competitions, including the men’s/ladies nearest to the pins, longest drives, and team competitions. An auction will also be held to raise funds, with entertainment on display making it one fine day. 

mecwacare cares for over 6,000 people each week across Victoria through a highly integrated service network operated by more than 800 employees and 300 volunteers. Caring for the community for nearly 50 years, mecwacare provides residential aged care, respite care, in-home support, disability and nursing services, providing optimal choice for people of all ages.
