  Administrative Assistant to General Manager - Residential Services

 Responsible To: General Manager Residential Services

 Summary of Position:This integral position is an ideal opportunity for an experienced administrative assistant to work with our General Manager, Residential Services. This role will be working 3 days a week every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

This position requires a person who has had experience working in a fast paced environment, who thrives on challenge and diversity in their role.  With excellent communication, organization and time management skills you will be able to deliver results and understand the importance of confidentiality.

Competencies: The successful applicant will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in providing a high standard of administrative support and customer service;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and typing proficiency;
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office packages;
  • Experience with diary management, preparing agendas and taking minutes;
  • Effective organisational and time management skills; and
  • A proactive approach to work with the ability to take initiative with tasks and projects.

Quality Advisor - Policy Development 

Responsible To:  Manager Quality and Risk

Summary of Position: If you are enthusiastic, resourceful and self driven with a comprehensive knowledge of policy development and quality and risk management, this is the role for you.

The Quality Advisor, Policy Development works with the Organisational Quality and Risk Department and service areas to streamline organisational systems, processes, policies and procedures in line with regulatory and legislative requirements and best practice guidelines. 

The Quality Advisor, Policy Development is responsible for:

  • Coordinating the development, review and evaluation of systems, processes, policies, procedures and associated documentation;
  • The implementation, management and evaluation of document management systems and processes;
  • Interpreting legislative changes and identifying the impact for the organisation;and
  • Facilitating the ongoing implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the quality and risk management system. 

Competencies: The successful applicant will have:    

  • Demonstrated experience in the development and evaluation of systems, processes, policies and procedures;
  • Highly developed analytical skills;
  • Demonstrated experience in interpreting legislation, standards and codes of practice;
  • Well developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and attend to multiple tasks across a range of settings;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent administrative skills including Proficiency in Microsoft Software; and
  • Knowledge of the Aged and Community Care industry and relevant legislation would be an advantage.

 Assessment Officer 

 Responsible To:  Clinical Manager 

Summary of Position:Our Home Nursing and Care Services team are seeking a registered Division 1 Nurse or Allied Health professional with experience in assessing clients in the home or a community setting.  This role is part time working 3 to 4 days a week.

You will have experience working with older people, people with disabilities, and their carers, with the ability to assess their care requirements in the context of their psychosocial and functional needs. 

Competencies: The successful applicant will have: 

  • Qualifications as a Division 1 Nurse or Allied Health professional;
  • Registration with relevant professional body;
  • Sound assessment skills;
  • Strong communication skills, with a commitment to high quality customer service and ability to work with a range of stakeholders;
  • Knowledge of HACC services;
  • Effective time management and problem solving skills
  • A current drivers licence and registered vehicle; and
  • Preferably you will have experience in community based services.

Key Worker 

Responsible To:  Manager Community Programs

Summary of Position: We are seeking a skilled and qualified professional to join our Disability Services team on a part-time basis for 15 hours per week. Our programs are focused on delivering person centered individual support to our clients so they can achieve their goals and aspirations.

The role of a Disability Support Worker – Key Worker is hands on and includes the provision of practical support to people with a disability to enhance their skills and competencies. Duties include support during day program activities such as further education and recreational activities. The position involves working with a small group and will involve bus driving. Qualities of a Key Worker include patience, a team-player, focus on client satisfaction, ability to communicate with families and caregivers and being a positive role model.

Competencies: The successful applicant will have: 

  • certificate IV in Disability or equivalent;
  • experience working with people with disabilities from diverse backgrounds;
  • previous experience in a Key Worker role;
  • First Aid level 2;
  • exceptionional communication and interpersonal skills for networking with clients, families and the community sector;
  • understanding and committment to Disability Act 2006 and other related federal and state legislation;
  • proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Work, Excel; and
  • driver's license and the ability to drive a bus.

Clinical Coordinator - ACFI

Responsible To: General Manager, Residential Services

Summary of Position: The Clinical Coordinator - ACFI is responsible for the overall review and management of ACFI at mecwacare. This will involve standardisation of ACFI processes and procedures including financial, educational and quality monitoring across our three facilities and forms an integral part in maximising funding received whilst maintaining the highest level of care our residents have come to know and expect.

Previous aged care experience in a leadership role is important as well as a practical working knowledge of ACFI and its application. Current Division 1 Registration is essential.

Competencies: The successful applicant will have: 

  • current Division 1 registration from the Nurses Board of Victoria;
  • strong knowledge and understanding of relevant Aged Care legislation, ACFI and Commonwealth Outcome Standards;
  • exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relate with elderly people and their families;
  • aptitude and demonstrated ability to manage financial matters in relation to funding; and
  • computer literacy including knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite; Outlook, Word, Excel and internet skills.

 Registered Nurses (Division 1 and 2) and Personal Care Attendants for Malvern Road Residential Facility 

mecwacare's newest state-of-the-art Aged Care Facility has opened its doors to residents as of Monday 1st February. The Centre will set a new standard in Aged Care living. We are seeking skilled professionals with passion, empathy and a commitment to delivering the highest quality of care for various roles.

Registered Nurses Division 1 must possess;

  • current Division 1 Registration with the Nurses Board of Victoria; and
  • demonstrated ability to apply clinical, interpersonal and administrative skills to achieve residential objectives.

Registered Nurses Division 2 (and Div 2 Med endorsed) must possess;

  • current Divison 2 Registration with the Nurses Board of Victoria; and
  • demonstrated ability to apply clinical, interpersonal and administrative skills to achieve residential objectives. 

Personal Care Attendants must possess;

  • Certificate III Aged Care with at least 6 months work experience;
  • current Level II First Aid (to be maintained); and
  • ability to understand and implement resident care plans.

DIRECT CARE ATTENDANT

Responsible To: Manager Malvern - Home Nursing and Care Services

Summary Of Position:If you have a genuine passion to work with the elderly and like to work independently, then this is the role for you. We have vacancies for both qualified and unqualified carers to work within the community.  Responsibilities include providing domestic cleaning and support, shopping and transport of clients, respite and personal care.  

As a direct care worker you will be enthusiastic, energetic and client focussed as well as being flexible and willing to travel to client's homes. We are seeking self-motivated individuals who are able to work independently and contribute to a cohesive team environment.

Competencies:The successful applicant will possess:

  • A roadworthy vehicle and current driver's license;
  • Current Senior First Aid registration;

You will be passionate and dedicated to deliver clinical and personal care par excellence.

A variety of shifts are available. 

Competencies: The successful applicant will: 

  • be responsible for the holistic care of residents with ability to understand and implement resident care plans;
  • have excellent care skills, strong documentation skills and be committed to supporting our residents to live and age well;
  • possess Certificate 3 in Aged Care;  
  • possess a current Level 2 First Aid Certificate; and
  • be available to work a minimum of three shifts per week.
