mecwacare's 2019 Board Scholarship recipients

mecwacare's Board of Directors Annual Scholarship Program awarded scholarships to eight staff members. This program, which is in its eighth year, supports our Employer of Choice initiatives and is part of mecwacare’s ongoing commitment to staff professional development. It also recognises the scholarship winners’ dedication to our clients and residents, and their commitment to their own career development.

Cheryl Shannon – General Manager – Organisational Quality and Risk – Corporate Services

Cheryl receives a scholarship to undertake a “Diploma of Government Investigations” and increase her understanding of the management of investigations in the public sector. 

Emma Sampson – PCA – Park Hill

Emma receives a scholarship to undertake a “Diploma of Nursing” to develop her skills and expand her clinical knowledge to meet the needs of residents. 

Max Ha Kow – Assistant Accountant – Corporate Services

Max receives a scholarship to undertake a “Manage People Effectively” course that covers a broad range of topics, such as communication styles, influence and persuasion, emotional intelligence and conflict resolution. 

Namgyal Chozom – PCA – Noel Miller Centre

Namgyal receives a scholarship to undertake a “Certificate Four in Leisure and Health” after recently commencing a lifestyle role at the mecwacare Noel Miller Centre.

Nicholas Simpson – Client Services Coordinator – South East Metro

Nicholas receives a scholarship to undertake a “Conflict Resolution and Mediation” course to assist in his newly-appointed role as a Team Leader. 

Paula Farfan – Nurse Educator – Corporate Services

Paula receives a scholarship to undertake a “Bachelor of Nursing” to provide quality training at all levels in her role. 

Reji Cherian – Registered Nurse – Vincent House

Reji receives a scholarship to undertake a “Graduate Diploma in Nursing” to further enhance care delivery in his role. 

Snez Angelkovik – Business Projects Coordinator – Corporate Services

Snez receives a scholarship to undertake a “Project Management Foundations” to assist in achieving key project milestones and to identify issues and risks in project-related analysis.
